Dining

Breakfast is served in the dining room between 8am and 9am. We offer a choice of fresh orange juice, cereals, homemade muesli, homemade fresh fruit salad, yogurts and croissants for you to help yourself to begin with. Our Farmhouse Breakfast consists of bacon, Keswick farmhouse sausage (pork), egg (fried, poached or scrambled), mushrooms, fresh tomatoes, fried bread and black pudding. All our meat is supplied by Saddleback Foods and Smokerie of Plumpton, Penrith. Our Vegetarian Breakfast consists of vegetarian sausages, egg (fried, poached or scrambled), mushrooms, fresh tomatoes and fried bread. We also offer porridge and a weekly special as an alternative. We use the Hawkshead Relish Company’s Marmalade and Jam.

Packed lunches are available to pre-order by 10am the day before required. Please ask if you require the packed lunch menu emailed to you.

Our informal dining room is transformed in the evening to provide the perfect setting for our rustic farmhouse cuisine. Pre-dinner drinks are available in the lounge bar from 6.30pm where you will be able to choose from our bar and wine list.

If you have room left you can finish your meal with a complimentary tea or coffee either in the dining room or lounge bar. For those that like an after dinner tipple we have a selection of malt whiskeys, a Cognac and an Armagnac for you to sample along with a selection of bottled local ales.

All our meals are cooked using fresh ingredients. For this reason we do need to know in advance if our guests are dining with us. The last time to order dinner is 10am. Dinner is served Monday to Saturday at 7pm. Please note that we do not offer dinner on a Sunday evening and there may be other occasions where dinner is not available. The bar and lounge are open to diners from 6.30pm until 10pm. The lounge, bar and dining room are closed on Sunday afternoons and evenings and may be closed at other times if there are no diners.
